The purpose of this blog is to keep me motivated and remind myself of the things I need to do daily. It is now 2017. I don’t know when I started this website, but 2017 needs to be a good year for me. I’m not getting any younger. If I work on myself daily this should be a good year.
Now here are a few small things I need to accomplish in order to accomplish my big goals.
I need to become proficient in Cubase, that is the Daw I determined is best for me
I need to lose some weight, losing weight is a form of self discipline
I need to eat healthier, which also aids in self discipline
I need to work in a more orderly manner, set task for the day and get them done.
I need to exercise at least 4 times a week, it’s that discipline thing again
My goals for 2017 are:
I want to finish my first Album by the end of the year. I have enough songs to complete 3-4 albums, it’s just a matter of laying down the tracks and getting the most professional sound I am able to produce on my own. If I need outside help to get a Pro Quality sound, I have no problem doing that.
I want to start production on a Soul Music TV show that will be used as a tool to feature new young up and coming artist. This TV show will be geared to talent that is more instrument driven than software driven. In my opinion songs that are written by a person with a music background are more melodic, and their songs tend to sound different from one artist to another. If an artist depends 100% on software and plugins I don’t think you get a whole lot of imagination in the song writing. I’m talking Soul and R&B, I don’t know if these comments apply to Hip Hop/Rap. I do know that I know music, and Soul music that is nothing but beats SUCK.
I also want to revise the Rnation Hip Hop TV show we did in the early 2000 called the Rnation Hip Hop Encounter. The name of the show may change but the concept will be the same. We have about 76 one hour shows that I’ll be posting to my Rnation Youtube Channel. If the demand is there we will start production. I know I can do it all on the Internet, but I like doing TV and Internet. I think one bolsters the other.
I’ll continue to add to this as I go forward. – Veston
