Day 4 and counting

This is my 4th day of not drinking Coffee. So far all is going well. In small steps my production is going up. My house has gone from looking like a pig pen to just being screwed up, that’s a big improvement for me. My eating habits are improving and I’m starting to walk again. I have always preached Healthy Body Healthy Mind.

In my opinion everything one does in life is connected. If you take care of yourself fully you enhance your chances of having success. That includes grooming, eating healthy,  exercising, a staying mentally fit. If you ever run across anything in life you don’t understand, you should immediately look it up. There is no excuse in the Internet age to not be constantly improving your knowledge.

No More Coffee for Me

Today was my last day of drinking Coffee. I love Coffee but it bothers me that I’m addicted. Yes I am addicted to Coffee 🙁 I have this thing about being dependent on anything. It gives me the feeling that I’m not in control of myself. I have quit drinking coffee on and off for the past 15-20 years, to no effect. But when I do quit it is always followed by a period of great production, and I think it’s because I have a feeling of self control. I’m in a period of my life now (2017) where I just simply need to get stuff done, so I’m hoping I can fight this beast at least until I reach my goals. I’ll keep you posted. 🙂

Football Sunday

Just spending the day Chillin like a villain watching football. I’ve known since yesterday we have the Seattle Seahawks next Saturday 4:35 est at the Georgia Dome. Ive been a Atlanta Falcons fan as long as I can remember, so all I can say is GO FALCONS!!!!

Soundcloud Problems and ATL Weather

Today was another day of making progress on one of my 2017 goals which is to learn Cubase DAW backwards and forwards. I spent the last 2 summers getting to know Cubase Elements 6, only to stop all progress when my son came home from his summer stay with his Mom. Since I had to combine parental duties, running my business with learning a DAW system, I declared my inability to get things done his fault. Even though I have preached to him for years that if you want to get anything done in this life there is no excuse, but here I was using this kid as my excuse.

Well beginging 2017 I made a promise to myself that I would do something everyday to reach all of my 2017 goals which I will disclose in a few days.

I spent a great part of the day trying to get soundcloud to play in my WordPress blog with no luck. I tried everything and I’m concluding that this company will be out of business soon. In my attempt to solve this problems I found that others have been complaining about the same problem since last year, and when I visited their websites they still didn’t have their soundcloud files working, so no more soundcloud for this website. 🙁
EDIT (1-19-2017): Upon further review I found out that the problem is not with soundcloud, the problem is with my Browser which is Firefox Mozilla and 2 plugins that seem to be clashing. I have shockwave flash and silverlight plugins loaded. When I disable shockwave flash soundcloud works, but when I disable silverlight and enable flash it doesn’t work. In summary if I want soundcloud to work I have to keep shockwave flash disabled and that is not practical right now because there are still websites out there that still use flash. On Google Chrome this is not a problem.

As far as my journey to understand VST plugins, I was able to locate the plugings that were added to cubase when I upgraded to Cubase Elements 9 from 6. They were audio VST’s that I had to access when I made an audio track.  When you make that audio track you then open up the insert tab which is located in the inspector section at the left hand side, and you should see your VST’s from the drop down menu. I still have more to learn about VST’s, but that is part of the journey

As far as the weather is concerned. We were suppose to have a massive snow snow storm, but it didn’t happen. It was just cold as hell.

The Big Score – 1983

Chicago police detective Frank Hooks, played by Fred Williamson, busts a drug dealer named Goldie. Goldie gets out on bail, then Frank gets a tip that a $100 million deal is going down. Frank and his partners (ably played by John Saxon and Richard Roundtree) stake the deal out, and break it up, but Goldie escapes with the money. After chasing the criminal on foot, Frank shoots Goldie dead. None of the police can locate the money. Goldie’s boss Mayfield suspects that Frank has stolen the money for himself. Meanwhile, Frank is suspended from the police force pending an internal affairs investigation. Mayfield sends two gangsters to find out who snitched about the drug deal, and to which cop. Their informant names Frank Hooks. After Mayfield threatens Frank and his nightclub singer girlfriend (played by Nancy Wilson), the girlfriend’s cat turns up dead. The criminals demand the return of their money, and stipulate a time and place for its return. After Frank rounds up some help in the form of a barely willing ex-con explosives expert, he meets the gangsters for a chance to settle the score with Mayfield. IMDB
